2018 Ford F-250

There's a lot of work to be done in the Langhorne, Bensalem, and Philadelphia areas, and nothing helps get the job done quite like a powerful pickup truck. You have plenty of options to choose from, but you deserve only the best, whether you need help at the worksite or want to take your family on an exciting trip.

One of the most popular options is the 2018 Ford F-250. Part of their Super Duty line, the advanced Ford truck offers more than your typical pickup, with towing capacity and capability that's sure to impress. It has a lot to offer, but is it right for you? Find out in our comprehensive 2018 F-250 review.

Ford F-250 Engine

Any good truck needs to pack some heavy-duty gear under the hood, and the F-250 doesn't disappoint. Under the hood, you'll find a 6.2-liter V8 engine standard that offers an incredible 385 horsepower with 430 lb-ft of torque. With that kind of power coming standard, you can enjoy enough brute strength for most situations right from the beginning.

Just because the standard engine is impressive doesn't mean you won't have the opportunity to upgrade. The F-250 also offers a 6.7-liter turbodiesel V8 engine that upgrades the horsepower all the way to 450. Diesel engines excel most in torque, and that's plain to see as this bad boy produces 935 lb-ft of torque.

Ford F-250 Towing Capacity and Payload

With that kind of power at your fingertips, it's only natural for the Ford pickup truck to feature some truly impressive towing capacity. When properly equipped, the 2018 F-250 can tow up to 15,000 pounds using conventional towing. If you set up a fifth wheel or gooseneck, that capability increases even more to a maximum 18,500 pounds.

Payload capacity is impressive as well, coming in at a maximum 4,000 pounds. This is due in large part to the F-250's internal construction. A few years back, Ford redesigned their trucks to implement aluminum in their construction rather than pure steel. Because of this, the truck is both lighter and stronger than its older counterparts.

Ford Safety Features

No matter what you plan to do with your pickup truck, you need to make sure it's safe. Ford went out of its way to make the F-250 safe, as demonstrated in crash tests performed by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. After extensive testing, the F-250 earned high marks in all categories, earning a full five stars in side impact tests.

Numerous driver assistance features are available on all models such as Blind Spot Monitoring and Rear Cross Traffic Alert. The more impressive features, however, include systems like Forward Collision Warning with Automatic Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Keeping Assist.
