It's the favorite time of the week for you social-media aficionados -- Throwback Thursday, of course! We thought we'd celebrate this week with a look back at a retired and beloved nameplate. You may have seen some retro reviews from the guys at MotorWeek floating around the internet over the past year, and we have to say that we're big fans of this archival footage -- and those '80s outfits!
Recently, they released a clip of their review of the 1983 Ford Escort GT, what was a high-performance economy car of sorts. The Escort was one of the most popular Ford vehicles of the '80s, and the last model rolled off the assembly line in 2002. It was replaced by the Ford Focus back in 2000, and the Focus still remains at the top of the compact car segment with its high-tech amenities, sporty driving dynamics and modern design.
Go ahead and squint through the haze of '80s television and check out this MotorWeek retro review of this Focus predecessor, the Escort hatchback, in the video below:
Want to see what the current-reigning Focus has to offer? We invite you to take any of our 2015 models for a test drive, here at McCafferty Ford Sales Inc in Langhorne, PA. This compact car sure packs a punch in terms of performance and appearance, so you'll want to experience it for yourself to see what it's all about.
