We all know the answer to the question "What's cooler than being cool? (Ice cold)," but what about when something is hotter than hot? If we think of a good answer, we'll tell you, but it pretty much describes the heat going on between the Detroit truck makers as of late. With the 2017 F-150 set to pull out ahead of the pack, we imagine that this rivalry is about to get hotter than ever.

Segment title-toting aside, we have some pretty fantastic news about the new 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 that the Blue Oval has promised for the 2017 half-tonner. Yesterday, Ford told us that the truck would offer 375 horsepower and a best-in-class 470 lb-ft of torque. This is certain to have some pretty good ramifications on the F-150's towing and payload numbers, but more importantly, this makes it the post potent half-ton truck--petrol or diesel--on the market today.

If you're the sort who looks for the best of the best when it comes to their truck, we'd happily invite you down to our Ford dealership in Langhorne, PA to schedule a test drive when it arrives.
