Everyone likes to pay less, and that goes for parts for our automobiles. We at McCafferty Ford of Langhorne are aware of that, and we hear from customers all of the time how expensive parts are when they buy them from a dealership. It is true that the "same" part is usually less at the discount auto store.
But the "same" part is not always the same. Many of the cheaper parts substitute plastic for metal, they are not always wired the same, and there are many shortcuts taken in the manufacturing of the part. Sometimes people ask if they can go buy the part at the cut-rate auto store, and we might say, "fine, but this will not work for your warranty."
To make sense of it all, there is no better part than the same one that came with your car when it was new. The truth of the matter is that when we as the dealer tells you your repair will last, we mean it.
